We remember with great fondness our partner, friend, and mentor, Art Connolly, Jr., a highly-respected attorney who served the Delaware Bench and Bar and the community with distinction for more than 50 years. Art was a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and President of the Delaware State Bar Association. He was appointed to serve on numerous law-related boards and committees, including the Delaware Supreme Court’s Board of Bar Examiners, Code of Judicial Conduct Committee, and Board of Professional Responsibility. He also served on the Advisory Committee to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and the Delaware State Public Integrity Commission.
Art’s greatest contribution, however, may well be his passion for serving those in need. As the President of the Laffey-McHugh Foundation, and in numerous leadership positions with organizations such as Delaware Volunteer Legal Services, Cancer Care Connection, and Children and Families First, Art quietly helped make possible many good works in our community.
We will miss our colleague as we strive to follow the example he set for all of us.
