Legislative Efforts to Address the New FLSA Regulations

Regarding my blog from last week, some have asked me whether there was any legislative effort to deal with the FLSA rule/ regulation set to become effective in December. Yes – there was an effort in Congress – Senate and House – but both seem stalled. The Senate bill (S. 2707) remains in the Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship. The House bill (H.R. 4773) remains in the Committee on Education and the Workforce. Both bills are called the “Protecting Workplace Advancement and Opportunity Act.”
